Hello? Is this thing still on?

So... it's been about 9 years since my last journal post and about 7 years since my last uploaded artwork. A lot has been going on in my life... but the TLDR; version is that I finished college with a degree in Game Design, gotten a job in the industry, and am basically just adulting with usual amounts of fangirling on the side.


To be honest, I haven't really drawn much lately with how crazy fast time seems to go by now, but I have done a little here and there. If anything, I've been really into merchandise and have poked around with attempting to design things like enamel pins, t-shirts, bags, plushies, toys, etc. I started a small Etsy shop where I've been selling custom design fanart pins and have 10 different designs for characters from FFXIV at the moment. There is a long list of additional video game and anime characters that I would like to do, but my current level of free time and energy feels almost nonexistent most days... so I do it when I can.


For those that have been following me since forever, thank you. To be honest, me popping back up on the DA radar is very much a random spur of the moment thing. I wasn't sure what to even post on here especially after having been gone for so long. And this website looks SOOOOOO much different from how I last remember it. Personally, I'm kinda struggling just to navigate the menus right now... lol. On top of that, I'm sure most the people who I followed and who followed me have probably "outgrown" deviantART or at least moved on to other media outlets. But if any of you are still out there, just thought I would say "Hi." I may decide to post some things, but we all know better than to hold our breath on that, huh? XD

School + Work = Distracted/Tired Genie

:dummy: Greetings and Salutations! :dummy:

I'm pretty well known around here for going AWOL and even more so for my shiney complex which distracts me from finishing projects...

Anyways... been working casually on some sketches as I've been pretty busy the last few months with work and school.

Currently working on the Shiney Complex webpage and a few other little web/sketch projects for class and commissions.

For those of you still waiting on the buddy pics, I haven't forgotten.  They're just collecting a little dust because of my school stuff... and because I had hardcore artist block for most of the pics... XD;;;  But don't worry... I will finish them.

I may end up posting alot of my OC's in couple pics soon... they're mostly to psych me up into drawing more.  Other than that, things are kinda mer.  Been super busy and tired from work and school so it's hard to have any energy to work on anything really... kinda a bum deal, but gotta do what ya gotta do.

Anyways, I'll be posting stuff soon so keep your eyes open, ladies and gents. :la:

Also, for those of you in OU who have giftart prizes from me... your pics are sketched, they just need to be scanned in and colored... which should also be done by this weekend.  :D

:dance: Salutations to all!  I hope everyone is doing well! :dance:

As some of you have noticed, I've kinda been AWOL for a while.  Reason being... in 2 weeks, I will be moving into a new apartment.  Yay! It's been pretty hectic, but once it settles down, I have a project that I would like to use to get back into drawing again.

Lately, I have been casually working on a few sketches here and there (and by "casually", I mean working on the same sketch for weeks).  I've also started to revamp older characters (wait til you see revamped Shogoru and the Reset gang... OMG!! D:!).  

Anyways... that's where this project comes into play.

Most of you who know me, met me in one of the several RP clubs that I floated in and out of... what I'm wanting to do relates to that and is kinda a gift for all of you who still follow my journals and/or talk to me.

I want to draw my characters interacting with their "club friends".

This applies to ALL club friends whether you are still in the club or long-since-retired.  To be honest, I enjoy interacting and 1-on-1 RPing with you guys more than being in the actual chatroom... so yeah.  Anyways, there is no limit to the number of buddy chara pics I will do (mainly cuz I don't think alot of people will respond to this post).  So, if we had chara buddies in multiple clubs (ie OI, EA, and Jingdou), feel free to ask for pics of each the different chara pairs.  I am gonna include a couple of requests with this offer tho.

:bulletyellow: Only 2 people per pic... less charas means the pics should get done faster and that means a smaller time frame so that I won't get bored or distracted from finishing the pic.

:bulletyellow: A little help... drawing several pics at once, my brain will go blank from ideas... so when you request a pair, list an activity or theme or something... that way I know what direction to go with my doodle and don't spend hours (or days) trying to decide... :D

And last but not least...

:bulletyellow: Doodle me a pic back? :tears: I'm not asking for a super mega badass pic or even a pic for each of the ones I draw you... but it would be nice to receive some art-love back of my chara and yours... :heart:

Someone once told me that I draw probably cute, happy stuff because I hate depressed and moody atmospheres... and they would be right.

I'm getting tired of the bummer mood that I've been in (especially since I just got sick). Nothing good comes from me moping about, so it's time for me to redirect that crappy feeling into accomplishing stuff.

I know that I get distracted easily by many things so it's best for me to narrow down what needs to get done so that I can actually GET STUFF DONE. Otherwise, I will wander around feeling blah cuz I can never get anything done.

:bulletyellow: Shiney Complex (website) - This is LONG overdue and needs to be finished. I'm sure that once this is out of the way alot of the other stuff will come along easier. I have thumbnails doodled up, but I never like the end result when I try and do them up on the comp. Is there anyone out there willing to advise me because I'm getting really frustrated trying to get this done.

:bulletyellow: Comics - I have lots of comic ideas stored in my head, but because there's so many, I never know where to start. I need to focus on 1 or 2 and get them rolling. Right now, I'm leaning towards my FFXI fancomic as one, but for the second, I'm not sure because I have alot of favorites.

:bulletyellow: Convention Stuff - These will probably take a backburner until I can sort out the above things, but I still need to keep them in mind: memory book, keychains, buttons, plushies, artbook, figurines, calendar, etc.

As far as club activities go... I'm unfortunately on hiatus. I've been getting worked up over trivial matters because of my mood and it's not a good thing for anyone. So, I'll be taking a break until I can get things under control.

For those of you that have worried about me and supported me, I :heart: you so much. I know it's hard to deal with someone with random moodswings so thank you.

Anyways, time to get cranking...

Bit worn down and tired... having a rough start to the new year.  Currently in Mode#2 so yeah.  I'll be around from time to time, I guess.  

Sorry, if this bums anyone out.  I'm just tired of faking happy when I feel blah.  I do hope everyone else is doing well tho.  Best wishes to you all for the new year.
